“RAPPRESENTAZIONE – staging the stage” shows the performance of a modern interpretation of Aida. It is the final act of the exhibition Ricordi “That’s Opera – 200 Years of Italian Music”. The exhibition gives an inside view in the art of producing opera. Entering the installation the visitior finds himself directly on stage. The 270° installation shows the construction and deconstruction of the performance. The aim was to give the visitor the feeling of a 3 hour opera in just a view minutes.

A modern interpretation of Verdis Aida was filmed by 4 cameras. Stage Workers were filmed on greenscreen carrying wooden walls in a plenty of ways. The Aida footage was tracked on these walls so that a 2nd level performanced was created. 8 beamer were used for the projection on semitransparent fabric.
